It has a way like the military people stand “watches” - they are “vigilant” - it’s a “practice” [you actually use or apply the Word of God], and it strengthens that which remains, which, Sardis had his name, but didn’t have any of the Word of God that came with his name anymore.

So, the first thing God asks those in Sardis that have his name is to remember what they already received and heard, which was the Word of God, just like he says to EVERYBODY, to the very ends of the earth to: “LOOK UNTO ME, AND BE YE SAVED ALL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH: FOR I AM GOD, THERE IS NONE ELSE.” - God.
